Hallucination

Short answer

A hallucination is when an AI model confidently generates false or fabricated information, such as inventing a product feature, a statistic, or a nonexistent fact about a brand, presented as if it were true.

Hallucinations happen because language models generate plausible-sounding text and, when not properly grounded, can fill gaps with fabrication. For brands this is a real risk: a model might misstate your pricing, invent features you don't have, or attribute the wrong facts to you, all delivered with total confidence.

The defense against hallucination is strong, consistent, retrievable, authoritative information about your brand. When accurate facts about you are abundant and repeated across trusted sources, models are far more likely to ground answers in them rather than guess. Weak or inconsistent entity data invites errors.

DeepLexa helps surface what models currently say about your brand, revealing hallucinations or gaps and pointing to the entity and content fixes that correct them.
